Valproate is contraindicated in girls and women of childbearing potential unless the conditions of prevent-the valproate pregnancy prevention programme are fulfilled..

Valproate Annual Risk Acknowledgement Form (ARAF) 

This ARAF should be completed by girls and women of childbearing potential with their specialist. Your specialist should review your treatment and complete this form with you at least once a year to make sure you know and have understood all the risks related to the use of valproate during pregnancy and the need to avoid becoming pregnant while taking valproate
