Rt Hon Matt Hancock MP, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, officially opened the building alongside Sanofi’s CEO Paul Hudson and Sanofi UK’s Managing Director Hugo Fry
Sanofi opened its new UK headquarters at Thames Valley Park in Reading. The new 70,000 sq. ft. office facility marks a £37m investment by the business to the UK and is home to 500 of Sanofi’s 1,200 employees in the UK.
As part of Sanofi’s commitment to the local area, the business is actively seeking to recruit for at least 50 new roles in the coming months, in addition to 10 graduate students, via its Aspiring Leaders programme.
The new space is designed with vibrant and airy colours featuring a modern, open floor plan inspired by Sanofi’s brand ethos of integrity, respect, courage and teamwork. The new offices house employees from varying disciplines with a focus on offering staff greater opportunity to work together through cross-collaboration and diversity. The building can accommodate more than 500 employees using open seating and collaborative working spaces, in addition to the ability to work remotely when necessary.
The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Rt Hon Matt Hancock MP, offered opening remarks at the ribbon cutting and plaque unveiling ceremony to officially commemorate the space.
“It’s fantastic to see Sanofi putting £37 million investment here into Berkshire, it’s a real vote of confidence in people locally and in the UK, which I’m very pleased to support – a French global company investing in the local area,” commented Mr Hancock.
“Sanofi’s Haverhill plant is in my constituency in West Suffolk, and the business has proven itself to be a great local employer. It’s particularly pleasing to see Sanofi living its brand message of ‘Empowering Life’ every day.”
“Our relationship with Sanofi is incredibly important, and we’ll do everything we can to support them and support the UK Life Sciences industry to make the innovations and the inventions that ultimately save people’s lives.”

At the heart of the new headquarter’s inception is the support of innovation under one roof, having consolidated its Guildford, Oxford and Maidenhead offices.
Set within its own beautiful 22-acre landscaped park on the banks of the Thames, the new headquarters’ location is easily accessible by road, air and rail and boasts large open green spaces alongside the latest in workplace building design.
The park, water meadows and nature reserve were developed to improve natural habitats and increase local biodiversity, making it an inspiring location for staff to enjoy and be a part of.
“It is a pleasure to arrive at and work out of our new headquarters, a space so modern and almost futuristic,” comments Andrew Hardwick, Head of Trade for Sanofi in the UK.
“We no longer have assigned seating, which, while it felt foreign in the beginning, offers ultimate collaboration between colleagues and a flexible and dynamic workplace. Anyone can move freely throughout the day, using the many huddle rooms and zones for formal or informal meetings, phone calls or creative brainstorming – whichever area fits what mood one is looking for.”
