280,000,000 pennies for 265 charities. Those are the most relevant numbers that show Pennies From Heaven’s extraordinary contribution to UK society.
The institution is the UK’s largest micro giving scheme for employees, and acts as a fundraising tool for charities. Their brilliant work led us to join their scheme in October 2017.
Since then more than 20% of our people have chosen to participate in the scheme. Jennie Redhead, Compensation and Benefits Manager, Sanofi UK & Ireland who is among those says: “I’m really proud to be part of the Pennies from Heaven scheme ever since it was introduced in 2017. It’s great to know that I’m doing my (small!) part for charities by literally zero effort and only signing up!”
As a result of our people’s contributions, over £4,000 was raised during 2020 which will support our nominated charities, Teenage Cancer Trust & Heads Together, and we were delighted to hear that we’ve been granted the Gold Pennies from Heaven Award.
As Pennies from Heaven CEO, Kate Frost, commented, Sanofi’s most recent contributions “will have made a real difference to their causes.” Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to providing the specialised care and support that teenagers with cancer need so that no young person faces cancer alone. Heads Together, a mental health initiative, is working to provide innovative new mental health services and spearhead a campaign to tackle the stigma of mental health conversations.”
We’re proud of our employees for achieving this recognition and we’ll keep working to increase our positive impact on UK’s society. Thanks to all our employees and a big congratulations to all!
