The Sanofi Inspires Challenge

Sanofi Inspires Girl

Employees of Sanofi are taking part in the Sanofi Challenge which aims to inspire and empower employees, friends and families to realise their potential by challenging themselves to go the extra mile in aid of charity.

About The Sanofi Challenge

The Sanofi Challenge, the first venture within the 'Sanofi Inspires' corporate social responsibility programme, centres around health and fitness activities and encourages all employees to challenge themselves to achieve 1,000 miles of challenges.  A miles equates to each £100 (Euro equivalent) raised in support of a challenge.

To date over £100,000 has been raised for the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Children's Medical & Research Foundation in Ireland and fundraising continues with a calendar of events in 2013.  Six time world swimming champion and the Teenage Cancer Trust supporter, Mark Foster comments, "The Sanofi Challenge for Teenage Cancer Trust is a great initiative centred around promoting wellbeing and personal growth.  As well as inspiring and encouraging participants to challenge themselves, they will also be raising money for an important cause."

Diamond Ball 2012

Diamond Ball verso

As part of the Sanofi 1,000 Mile Challenge, four Sanofi employees, helped by volunteers, are organising a charity ball to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.  The Diamond Ball 2012 will take place on Friday 9th November in Guildford.  Tickets cost £60, which includes a welcome drink, wine and a three course dinner, music and entertainment, with all profits being donated to Teenage Cancer Trust.  Sanofi is inviting employees, family, friends, partners and local businesses in the Guildford area, and anyone interested in supporting Sanofi's quest to raise £100,000 for teenagers with cancer.  Celebrity attendees will be announced soon, so if you don't want to miss this wonderful black tie event, contact us at gb-diamondball@sanofi.com.

National Fitness Day

Sanofi staff at sites in Dagenham, Dublin and Guildford actively participated in a National Fitness Day on Friday 28th September 2012.  The Sanofi Inspired gateway of events included a Dagenham Zumba class and a walk, a Dublin Citywest stroll and a Guildford Just Jhoom session.  The Dagenham team had almost 80 participants that included family and friends.  Colleagues in Dublin complemented the health and wellbeing activity with a nutritious lunch, and the Guildford group jumped into the Just Jhoom trend.  The day raised more than £470 for the respective corporate charities, the Teenage Cancer Trust in the UK and the Crumlin Hospital in Ireland.  This national day is envisaged to become a permanent fixture in the Sanofi calendar.  Visit out Facebook wall for event pictures and updates.

Great Big Monster Sea Swim

On 21st September, five swimmers - including two Sanofi colleagues - completed a 100-mile swim to raise money as part of the Sanofi 1000 Mile Challenge.  They had been training and preparing for an epic sea swim that would see them undertake a relay from Guernsey in the Channel Islands to the south Devon coast in England.  Sadly, stormy sea conditions during the weekend meant that the challenge was relocated on the eleventh hour, but in spite of the logistical and emotional challenges of moving the event, the team successfully completed their 100-mile challenge raising a huge amount of money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Bike Ride

Sanofi organised a bike ride from the Genzyme head office in Oxford to the Sanofi head office in Guildford which took place on Friday 22nd June.  Starting with a send-off breakfast, cyclists left Oxford at 10am and arrived mid to late afternoon at the Guildford Cricket Club.  The distance of 60 miles was covered with full support, back up vehicles, marshals and refreshment points etc.
