Protecting and improving human health worldwide is the mission of our vaccine division, Sanofi Pasteur MSD. It plays an active role by providing innovative, high quality vaccines for preventing and treating disease and by increasing access to immunisation.

As a dedicated vaccine manufacturer in the UK, Sanofi Pasteur MSD is committed to ensuring a reliable supply of well tolerated, effective vaccines. With global demand expected to double by 2016, we are continuously investing in the most advanced technologies to meet the growing requirement for both new and existing vaccines.

Sanofi Pasteur MSD is part of Europe's largest company dedicated exclusively to vaccines, and works alongside the World Health Organisation, government agencies and academic institutions to ensure public health preparedness for any future influenza pandemic.

An unrivalled heritage: more than a century of vaccine expertise.

Sanofi Pasteur MSD grew out of the confluence of the four exceptional figures that shaped the history of vaccination: Louis Pasteur, who first saved a young life with his rabies vaccine in 1885; Marcel Mérieux, who founded the Mérieux Biological Institute in Lyon in 1897; Richard Slee, who in the same year set up the Pocono Biological Laboratories in Pennsylvania; John Fitzgerald, who created Connaught Laboratories as part of the University of Toronto in 1914.
